"She standing on the stairs." Ace said rubbing his forehead. Lona stepped off and walked next to Ace.

"ok now I know you are all trying to get out of going to the dance, skipping school, and pissing off teachers isnt going to work, just gives me more reason to make you go..." Garp said

Nami had made a list of guys Jackie wasnt even paying attention anymore.

'Is making us go to the dances a form of punishment?!' Lona walked back to her room. Ace and Luffy voiced her thought.

"oh and find dates!" garp said with a laugh before going back to his box of doghnuts

The boys groaned going back to do whatever they do. Lona was playing her cello now.

Nami went home a while later, Jackie finsihed her homework and went to go watch tv.

Lona really didn't want to go to schoo. She really didn't want to go to the dance. She got the idea of skipping everday to avoid Lucci. Yes that's what she's going to do.

The next day at school, things were getting even more chaotic since the dance was in a couple days.

Lona left to go to school with Ace, Luffy and Jackie as usual but once there she found Law and skipped. Law knew what she was doing but didn't say anything about it. They were on the roof eating lunch. "It didn't work huh." He said taking a bite of some rice. Lona shook her head no.

Jacki sat in science doing to lab, by herself as usual.

"You know." Law began to say. Lona looked at him waiting for him to finish. "Avoiding him isn't going to work." He finished. Lona's head slumped. "He'll find you."

She sat at lunch eating with the others, she hadnt seen Lona around all day and figured she was skipping again.

"Just go to the dance with him." Law said with a laugh. The door creaked opened. Law and Lona looked toward the door to see who was coming. "Are you two always together?" Kidd asked walking over to them, slamming the door shut. "No. Not all the time." Law answered.

It was the last class of the day, Coach Hina was making the girls run the track.

Kidd sat down near Law and Lona. Lona looked away from him. "Don't mind her." Law said with a chuckle. "She's just uneasy around new people...and people in general."

At the end of the day Jackie went to practice, Ace and Luffy walked home
They got to the house and Luffy went immediately to the fridge for a after school snack, "so Luffy think of anyone to go to the dance with yet?" Ace asked Luffy's mouth was already full so it was difficult to decipher what he was saying, though he was sure the last part was 'have you?' Ace shook his head, Garp came bursting in "instead of dwelling and sitting around thinking about why dont you get up and go find dates!" he said "I mean come on you have a girl that lives just down the street go ask her!" he said

The three sat on the roof for the whole day. Lona became friends with Kidd quite fast. Law could tell that Lona enjoyed having Kidd around. He couldn't help but smile. Although no one else would be able to tell, Lona was starting to open up to people.

"Jackie?" Ace and Luffy wondered outloud. Even though Luffy's voice was muffled by the food. They looked at each other. Luffy said something about Ace would be better off going with Jackie.

"I guess I could go ask her." Ace said with a nod then remembered she was still at practice.

Law left as usual and Kidd walked Lona home. Which suprised Lona since he didn't seem the type.

Jackie left practice and went home, Ace coincidently had gone over to see if she was home and saw her coming up to the house.

When Lona and Kidd got to the house Lona saw that Ace was heading to Jackie's house. Lona didn't think much of it. She thought about invinting Kidd inside but then remembered Garp's and Luffy's behaviour.

"hey Ace" Jackie said surprised to see him "oh hey Jackie, just getting home?" he asked "yeah" she said "you need something?" she asked stepping onto the porch "um yeah..I was wondering if...since I need a date to homecoming, would you go with me?" he asked

Lona invited Kidd in anyway. She believed he could handle Luffy and Garp.

"go to homecoming with you?" she asked "what a coincidence i needed somebody to go with too" she said with a smile "sure i'll go." she added.

Lona somewhat regretted inviting Kidd inside. She was more amused that he was trying to keep his temper in check. Garp and Luffy ambushed him with questions about him and why he was with Lona.
