~Dementia~

Issue 5

Yanika didn't hear him. She was still trying to catch her breath. The thing that was laying on the floor looked like a decomposing corpse, but it didn't have a odor. She walked over to it cautious. She bent down and took out her knife. She ripped a part of her lab coat and wipped the blood off of it. She then tossed the bloodied fabric aside. "Insulin is the least of our worries now." She said. "We need to find her before one of these things do."

"you think there are more of them?" he asked "I wouldnt doubt it" she replied "right..." Chris said as he looked around the room for something he could use as a weapon.

Issue 5

Yanika then remembered the note. She had kept it with her. "Did you get a note saying to find the others?" She asked. Chris took out his note and nodded. "Who left these?"

"like I know" she said "yours didnt say to look for the bag..." she said looking at his note, he looked at hers

Issue 5

"It's like someone is trying to bring everyone together. I believe there more people to look for than just your daughter...but right now we should focus on Natalie." Yanika said. She put her knife away. "Bring the flashlight. I have some keys. I doubt she'll be in a locked room..but it wouldn't hurt to look. Besides we may find out where we are."

Chris got the flashlight and keys they left the room. They walked past the machines again, he stopped a minute and rummaged in a toolbox until he found what looked like a large heavy wrench "just in case" he said as they continued on.

Issue 6

The streets were deserted. Mikhail and Emily stayed close to gether. Emily had her gun out. They were looking for a bus stop. Emily said there should be a town map at a bus stop if they're lucky.

Mikhail, had found a metal rod when they had gotten out of the hospital, it was amongst the rubble of the rest of the town. They made their way to the bus station

Issue 5

"Well...we're half lucky." Emily said with a light snicker. Mikhail couldn't see how she could be laughing. They found a map but it was torn in half. Emily looked at it. She found the hospital on it and then she found where they were. She sighed they had three blocks to walk to get to the police station.

"well its only three blocks...come on" she said hurrying down the street, Mikhail folded the map and put it in his pocket and followed her.

Issue 5

Her boots made a light tapping noise against the concrete as they walked down the sidewalk. They pass many shops. Emily was still on the look out. It was night. One of those things could jump out at them at any moment.

Mikhail's converse made barely a sound, the only thing that was, was the chain he was wearing on his jeans, he clutched it to keep the links from clanging together. Emily moved quickly he was almost having trouble keeping up

Issue 5

Emily kept a eye on Mik. She didn't need him getting lost. She could tell he was struggling to keep up but she didn't think they coud afford slowing down. They already were just two blocks away.

They had one more block to go Mikhail was tagging along ok now, he managed to pick up some speed.

Issue 5

Emily smiled to herself. 'This kid is alright.' She had to keep herself from whistling. They eventually made it to the police station. "Be cautious. Those zombies can be in here too." She smiled.

"thanks for that.." he said as he looked warily around the place, they made it to the station and Emily cautiously opened the door to check to see if it was clear. Mikhail was looking around when he heard a throaty gurgling sound, he looked to see a zombie step out of the alley, "ummm Emily..." he said

Issue 5

"Zombie Mik?" Emily asked more excited than he would like her to be. She saw it. She shot it in the head. She pulled Mik inside before there postiton was given away.

"you are insane!" he said she covered his mouth "not so loud dumbass your going to draw attention to yourself" she said "you acted like you were just offered a million dollars rather than killing a disease ridden zombie!" he said though it was said fast and his accent muddled most of what he said "what?" she said looking at him funny.

Issue 5

"I said you acted-oh never mind." Mikhail said. Emily looked at him funny again. "Well it's time to get you a gun." She whistled. Mikhail looked at her in disbelief. "A gun?" He questioned. "Yep. A gun. I'll teach you to shoot too."

The closest thing to a gun Mikhail had ever held was a paintball gun, even then he wasn't much of a good shot, and this time the shots would be lethal. He followed Emily to the back of the police station.

Issue 5

Emily found the hanger with the guns. She looked through them. She wanted something small for him. Something that didn't have a big kickback.

Mikhail looked at the weapons, he picked up a shotgun but she reached over and took it from him "hehe i dont think so" she said putting it back his eyebrow twitched "here this one should be good" she said handing him a small hand gun.

Issue 5

"Something you can handle." She said as he took it. "I don't need you accidently shooting someone and getting knocked back from the kickback." Emily expalined. She got a holster for his gun. She took two more and took two more small hang guns. "Just in case." She said when he looked at her. "Now to find the extra ammo."

He holstered his newly aquirred weapon and the two searched for extra ammo, they found it eventually, in a cabinet on the far wall.

Issue 5

"Where we heading next?" Mikhail asked still uneasy about having a gun. "We should stay here for a bit. Give other people at least some time to get here." She said. She found a map of the police station in one of the cabinet shelves. She saw where they're was a office. It should have a phone. She didn't think it would work but it was worth a try.
