Issue 9

Emily smiled at Natalie before leaving. Mikhail stayed close behind her. Emily unlocked the basement door, she had Mikhail go down a few steps first so she could lock it again. "Why are you locking it?" He damanded. "Cuz if we get chased by zombies I don't want them to get eaten with us." Emily said in a matter of fact tone. Mikhail's eyebrow twitched. She talked about getting eaten so casually. He got it in his mind that she is indeed crazy.

He called her crazy in russian "what was that?" she asked "nothing..." he said as she went ahead of him again, they continued down the stairs

Issue 9

The basement was filled with shelves. They were tightly packed and it was hard to see pass them. Emily knew right away that it is dangerous and would have been better if she came alone. She whispered to Mihail to be as quiet as possible. She tried to listen for any sounds that would show if there was someone or something else down there with them. She quietly took a step forward.

Mikhail was trying to keep his breathing under control, he admitted being in a tight fit basement where zombies possibly resided scared the shit out of him, He quietly followed Emily.

Emilye stepped over a spray paint can. "Watch your step." She warned him in a whisper. He nodded. Mikhail accidently stepped on the can making him lose his footing. Emily tried to catch him from falling but he knocked over a shelf that cause bit of a domnio effect. The shelf crashed into another which cause that shelf to crash into another. Emily and Mikhail cringed at every crash. She gave him a look. They heard footsteps. "Guess there is zombies in here." She said a bit louder then before.

She pulled him back on his feet as she pointed her gun and started shooting at the zombies, Mikhail did the same at least he hoped he was hitting the monsters "watch where you're pointing that thing!" Emily yelled he corrected his aim, Luckily there were only a few zombies so it took about 5 minutes to clear the area, they both stood panting from the rush Mikhail wiped the sweat from his brow as he nudged a zombie with his foot "I hate it when Im right..." he said

'Let's just hope or little shoot out didn't attract any zombies from the outside." Emily said.

he nodded "come on lets keep looking" she said "what are we looking for exactly?" he asked "I don't know anything unusual" she said

"And some light weight supplies that we can take with us." Emily added. They looked around more freely.

Mikhail looked around the basement he ended up reaching a dead end when he came up to the back wall he looked to his left and found a door he went to open it but it was locked he stepped back and kicked at it hoping it would break open

He ended up hurting his foot. Emily heard the kid muttering something. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Locked door." Mikhail muttered. Emily took out the ring of keys she found in the office room from before. She tried the keys one by one.

One of them finally fit and she unlocked the door her gun at the ready she told Mikhail to stay back so she could make sure the room was clear

Emily walked in slowly. She motioned for Mikhail to come in when she knew it was clear. The room was filled with file cabinets.

He entered the room and looked around he noticed a sticky note on the wall

Emily tried to turn on the computer. It was dead. She kept herself from punching the keyboard. Emily turned her attention to the cabinets. She looked through the files.

Mikhail peeled the sticky note off the wall and read it "hey Emily I found something..." he said

"A sticky note?" Emilye walked over. "Read it."

"you've made it this far but the game has only begun, your next clue is in a quiet place but where exactly? only History will tell..." he said "and?" she asked "thats it theres nothing else" he said "what the hell is that suppose to mean?" she asked "nevermind lets get back upstairs" she said

(tried to make it riddle like but im not sure if im clever enough >_>)

The others were awake by the time Emily and Mikhail came back to the room. Yanika made some breakfast. Natalie and Christ were eating.

Natalie saw Mikhail and Emily "were there monsters down there?" she asked "hundreds of them" Mikhail said Emily almost thumped his head "but we got em dont worry" he added

"I also locked the basement door just in case." Emily said with a smile. She sat down to eat. "We found a note."

Chris and Yanika looked up "a note?" they asked "yeah here read what it says" Emily said handing the sticky note to them Chris took it and Yanika looked over his shoulder as they both read it, "the next clue is in a quiet place, but only History can tell us where" Yanika said after she read it

"It's a simple riddle." Chris and Yanika said. Emily's eyebrow twitched. "Do tell what it means then." She said.

"a quiet place obviously somewhere like a library" Yanika said "and 'only History will tell' well that means the note is in the History archives of the library" Chris said the way they had both said it made Emily's eyebrow twitch again

"I got the urge to shoot something now." Emily muttered. "When are we leaving?" Mikhail asked trying to Emily to think about something else. "Should we all even go?" He added.
