a sorta xiaolin showdown rp and twilight zone rp crossover. the oc charries are basiclly in the xiaolin world. the mood of the fic is going to be more heavy than the cartoon series and it actually focuses more around the charrie mika.

Chapter 1: Duty, All I had to Begin with

___Trin quietly watched as Mika preformed the ceremony of desent, singing the hymn of the souls. "Why..." Her voice was quieter than a ghost. The song faded with the souls. Trin ran and caught Mika before she fell. "Mika why do you do all of this?"
___"Because it is my duty." Mika said with her eyes closed, breathing heavy. Trin cringed at the word 'duty'. Trin helped Mika stand. Mika slowly walked over to her tree stump and sat down, still breathing hard.
___"She doesn't have much time left." Trin thought, clenching her fist tightly. Mika frowned seeing Trin's pain, then smiled.
___"How about a lesson." She suggested. Trin looked at her suprised. "Your grandfather may have given up on you, but I have yet to see a reason why." Mika said with a smile. Trin smiled at her comment.

___A small green dragon paced worried in a small shrine. "Oh boy. What should I do." He said in a paniced tone. He looked at a scroll then jumped off the table again. Repeating the same question over and over.
___"Dojo, what's up?" A youn man asked. He slicked back his wet messy brown hair. Dojo ignored him, going back to his paceing. The boy frowned frustrated with the small dragon. He went to the table that held the scroll. "Whoa." He picked up the scroll doing a double take. "What is this? It doesn't look like a shan-gon-wu." He said putting the scroll back on the table.
___"It isn't." Dojo said, he jumped on the boy's shoulder. "Raimundo, can you come with me to master Fung?" Dojo asked still in a panicy state. Raimundo shrugged then said he will. "Thanks buddy!" Dojo hugged Riamundo's neck.

____Dojo hide behind Raimundo's neck as they entered the temple. "Master Fung, there's something up with the shan-gong-wu scroll." Raimundo said, walking into the tea room. Master Fung looked up from his tea.
____"Is that so?" Master Fung said in his usual tone. Dojo started to bawling.
____"I'm sorry!!!" He cried. He jumped to Master Fung's shirt. "I didn't mean to break it!" He blew his nose with Fung's shirt. Raimundo rolled his eyes at the scene.
____"Dojo, calm down already." Raimundo said, pulling Dojo off of Fung's shirt. "You didn't break the darn scroll."
____"Dojo, Raimundo is correct." Fung took the scroll and looked at it. "This is most troubling." He put the scroll down of the table.
____"What is it?" Rai asked, taking a look. "I still don't think it looks like a shan-gong-wu." Dojo yelled at him saying that he already told him that.
____"This is not a shan-gong-wu." Fung reapeated. The scroll showed over and over a black amulet. "What the shan-gong-wu scroll is showing us does not even belong to our world." Dojo and Raimundo gave him a he's crazy look.
____"So, why is it showing us this? We have to get it?" Rai asked confused. Fung didn't say anything. "Whoa you don't even know huh?"

____"We have to do something?" Dojo said panicing. "No shang-gong-wu will revel itseft while the scroll in preoccupied about another...thing." Dojo tried to explain. Raimundo raised his eyebrow in question.
____"Dojo is correct." Fung agreed. Raimundo asked what they should do, again. "Prehapes it's time I show you young monks about the other universes." Master Fung lead Raimundo to the temple that holds the shang-gong-wu. Dojo went over to the training area to get the others. Master Fung took out a small bell and rang it. A hidden stairwell appeared outside of the temple leading deep underground.
____"Whoa." Raimundo said in awe and suprise. "You'd think that I would know everything about this place." He said to himself, walking down the stairwell. The stairs lead them to an large dark dome room. "So...there are other universes?" Raimundo asked after a few minutes of silence.
____"Yes, I'll explain when the others come." Master Fung stood in the middle of the room. Raimundo looked down and saw ungraveings on the floor. Where Master Fung was standing the ungraveing looked like a giant eye with a teardrop. It was decorated with symbols around it.
____A group of very variety people appeared a few minutes later. "What's the big deal?!" A young woman with raven black hair demanded. "I have to be at the clinic! I told you that in advance!" She yelled at Master Fung.
____"Yes, I know." He said calmly. She clenched her fist ready to punch him but held back, by a look from her sister. She walked back to her sister and started to complain to her.

"Now that you're all here." Master Fung said, getting their attention. "I must explain to you about the universes." He took out the same bell from before. He rang it twice, the room lit up with a dim glow of blue. Ungraveings could now be seen on the walls and ceiling.
___"Hey, she's pretty." Raimundo said looking at the ungraveing on a woman on the ceiling. Kimiko glared at him but he didn't notice it. Omi and Clay snickered at him knowing the impending doom he's going to get later.
___"She's a being of darkness." The raven hair woman said along with Master Fung. They looked at Yachi in question about how she knew. "I'm darkness." She said, thinking that was enough of an explaination.
___"So she is evil." Omi said proudly as though he knew. Yachi glared at him, while her sister Yumi held Yachi back from trying to murder the small monk.
___"No, Omi." Master Fung corrected. Omi looked at him suprised and confused. "She saved this world."

___"How can someone of darkness be good?!" Omi said doubtful. Yachi cleared her throat. Omi stuck up his nose not acknowldging her. Yumi had to hold her back again.
___"She appeared about four thousand years ago. When the spirits of the dead still roamed around the world. With no place to go, no place to rest. They became evil spirits from envy, anger and sorrow." He explained. "She saved us by making heaven. She sacrificed her soul and life energy to make the heavens. Her daughter lead them to heaven by her voice. These beings whom have black and light gray skin. The one who made heaven had beautiful red eyes and her daughter had orange eyes."
___"And they're from a other universe?" Raimundo asked, still trying to absorb all the information Master Fung had told them. Master Fung nodded. "Is what the scroll keeps showing part of that universe?"
___"I believe so. But I do not believe it is a part of the Twili's." He said, closeing his eyes. "We need them once again."
___"I still do not see how a being of darkness is good!" Omi was starting to get frustrated. Yumi could hardly hold back Yachi after Omi's comment.
___"Omi, this knowldge seems to have been lost." They all looked at him. "Life is born from darkness, light preserves life and darkness takes back the life in which it had created. Darkness is raw power and many can not use it's power without being overwhelmed. It takes a very strong soul to be able to merge with darkness."

___Despite Mika's condition, she was still able to be victorious in a battle of magic against Trin. Trin sat panting like a dog next to a tree stump. Mika chuckled at the sight. "I didn't know magic can take this much out of you." Trin said in between pants. "How do you deal with this?!" Trin threw herself on the soft grass, staring at the cloudless sky. "Ow!" She whined after something hit her stomach. She picked up a small gourd. "Thanks." She said accepting the water with much graditude. The two sat there, staring at the sky until dusk. Each occupied with thoughts of the future. Mika closed her eyes and smiled. She didn't see Trin's sorrow filled expression. Trin knew what Mika was thinking, much to her regret she was starting to believe that it was for the best. Selfishness, pride, anger, regret, all that describes the hylain, only one that describes the gerudo.
___"Trin, what do you plan to do afterwords?" Mika asked not facing Trin. She still had her smile. Trin held back her tears and laughed.
___"Havn't got a clue. I don't want to go back to that bastard and I don't want to stay in that musty old temple." Mika laughed softly while Trin laughed loudly. Mika was able to sense the pain that Trin was desperately trying to hide. Mika smiled and looked at the now star filled sky, playing with Trin's act. She believed it was for the best. She had dragged her into her tragedy. Now she is torn. Torn between her duty and her friend. What is best? She had been asking herself the past few months. What is best? Preforming my duty, leaving my friends. Or staying with them even though it means all I'll feel is pain. I don't know what is right anymore. They both thought, unkowningly at the same time. Both lost in their thoughts, unaware.

___The group were chatting to themselves as master Fung did something that no one payed attention to. Kimiko was talking to Raimundo and Clay. Omi was talking with Dojo, complaining about how can darkness be considered good. Yachi was grumbling about Omi with his biases about darkness to Yumi.
